Welcome to Helma
Mission Statement
The mission of Helma Institute of Massage Therapy is to be an exceptional holistic educational center, and to create massage therapists who are ready to take their
place in the professional world. We endeavor to make
a positive difference in the quality of life for everyone
who participates with us by comprehending the value
of each individual, by encouraging self-expression and
creativity, and by assisting and supporting each person
in realizing personal and professional growth.
Our founder, Kitty Leer, has been a driving force in the
massage therapy community for over 40 years. Profiting
from Kitty's enormous wealth of knowledge and her
experience, students at Helma learn massage in a
vigorous yet relaxed atmosphere. Within weeks students begin to develop and apply massage techniques at our busy massage therapy clinic.
Open to the public, our clinic places students in a working hands-on environment which allows for a smooth transition upon graduation to the professional world.
Helma graduates have transitioned to exciting and rewarding careers in massage therapy working in professional sports, and spa settings, private business and in association with chiropractic and other conventional medical practitioners. The reputation of our graduates is such that they are sought after and welcomed as true professionals.
Dedicated to excellence, the instructors at Helma are teaching professionals, with extensive backgrounds in education. The challenging academic curriculum is presented in a dynamic style conducive to learning and to meeting the individual needs of our students.
